Tommy Castro and the Painkillers have gone back to their roots, so to speak, with an all-blues album, Closer To The Bone, with a mix of originals and well-loved blues classics. It was an easy choice for this month's Pick Hit.

The sister duo of Larkin Poe continues to amaze with their ability to blende blues, southern rock, Americana, and more into a mesmerizing mix of guitar-heavy music. Their latest album, Bloom, is the Surprise pick of the month.

This month's Flashback goes back to earlier in the century for an outstanding album, The Chill, by the late harmonica ace, John "Juke" Logan. If you missed it when it was first out, you will want to track down this one.
