Marcia Ball has the right idea in naming her new CD, Peace, Love & BBQ. That sounds like a great threesome to me. It's this month's Pick Hit.

The combined ages for the Perry siblings that form the Homemade Jamz Blues Band equals somewhere around 37 or 38, depending on what time of year you've done your math. But you'd never know it by listening to mature blues sounds on their debut CD, Pay Me No Mind, this month's Surprise hit.

Willie Kent's 1992 release, Ain't It Nice, showed that he was one of Chicago's steadiest blues cats. It's this month's Flashback feature.
