Eddie Turner's great new sophomore disc, The Turner Diaries, checks in as our Surprise hit. In a slight departure from our usual Flashback format, we look at a current duo, Piedmont-style bluesmen Cephas & Wiggins, who are still playing a form of music just not heard very often these days. Their Alligator release, Shoulder to Shoulder, is this month's Flashback. This month's What's New section features new releases from Michael Coleman & the Delmark All-Stars, Billy Price, William Lee Ellis, Bernard Allison, Walter Trout, Lil' Ed & the Blues Imperials, Hollywood Blue Flames, Lynwood Slim, Irma Thomas, Barbara Carr, and more, plus still another DVD of some vintage Otis Rush performances.
