The outstanding ensemble band The Texas Horns are back with another excellent album, Get Here Quick. It's this month's Pick Hit. Yes, they are just as much fun as their name would indicate!

Sax player extraordinaire Jimmy Carpenter has been around for the blues scene for at least four decades, mostly as a sideman. On Soul Doctor he steps to the front of the stage, making his new one our Surprise CD of the month.

This month's Flashback feature looks back at a classic album, Texas Bluesman, by legendary but lesser-known Texas guitarist ZuZu Bollin. It's worth the price just for his remake of his classic "Why Don't You Eat Where You Slept Last Night."
